The Osun International Film Festival is the first film festival of its kind in Osun state, Southwestern Nigeria. Home to the Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove, Osun has long been recognized as the heartland of art and culture.
OSIFF serves as a gateway for filmmakers and audiences to explore, engage, and learn. In partnership with the Osun State Government, the festival advances cultural diplomacy and positions cinema as a tool for heritage, tourism, and global connection.
Oyeyemi Oyewusi grew up in love with movies. But like many, he didn’t believe he could build a career from that passion. Following a non-traditional path, he eventually studied Animation at CityVarsity in South Africa, and that decision changed everything. Today, he is the founder of the Osun International Film Festival.
Inspired by the global resonance of the Osun-Osogbo Festival, Oyeyemi created OSIFF, using the vibrant traditions of Osun Osogbo as a backdrop to celebrate the power of cinema.
